Margie Newman
Freelance Creative Director
Margie is a creative director and Emmy-award-winning writer/producer of documentary films. Her work has been seen on PBS stations in St. Louis and Chicago, as well as at large corporate events. In St. Louis, Margie founded Ciné 16, a vintage film screening series at Mad Art Gallery. She also co-owned Gallery Urbis Orbis in St. Louis with her partner, artist Alan Brunettin. Both St. Louis projects were part of a larger “art as catalyst” effort to help energize urban renewal. She has served on the boards of arts organizations including Dance St. Louis, the Academic Film Archive of North America, Chicago Film Archives, and now Intonation Music Workshop. She holds a BA in communications from the University of Missouri and MA in English from Southern Illinois University.
