Program Director Cyndy at intonationmusicworkshop dot org
Cyndy began her journey in youth development over 10 years ago working in community centers, schools and The Boys and Girls Club of America across the country (Tennessee, Colorado, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Illinois). Cyndy began working with IMW when it was a pilot program at Association House of Chicago in 2006 as a part of her graduate practicum placement with Columbia College. After receiving her Master of Arts Management in Youth Arts and Community Development from Columbia, Cyndy returned to North Carolina where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Education to work with incarcerated teens developing programming that utilized music in a therapeutic wilderness setting. In 2009, Cyndy returned to Chicago to become a MusicianCorps Fellow with Music National Service , a year long pilot placing musicians in communities of need. During this time she also returned to the IMW classroom, and hasn’t looked back since. Cyndy became Program Director in September of 2010 and enjoys seeing IMW grow and change, taking an active role in the process. In her free time you can find Cyndy making music with her band Nelken and lending harmonies on various musical projects around town.
